Title: Research on the Mechanism of Maritime Culture Education in Cultivating University Students’ Maritime Awareness

Abstract: Building a strong maritime nation is a major national strategy, and there is an urgent need to strengthen the public's maritime awareness. As the main front for talent development, universities bear significant responsibility. Currently, maritime culture education in higher institutions faces challenges such as a fragmented system, superficial content, insufficient support, and weak practical training, which hinder the cultivation of college students' maritime awareness and fall short of meeting national strategic needs. The key to addressing these issues lies in: constructing a systematic maritime culture education system, optimizing content supply guided by national strategic goals, focusing on safeguarding maritime rights and interests and the concept of a maritime community with a shared future; innovating student-centered teaching methods, enhancing interactive

discussions and practical immersion; and integrating campus cultural resources with practical platforms related to maritime affairs to deepen the educational function of the environment. Thisinitiative aims to bridge value identification with practical capabilities, providing solid support for cultivating builders of a strong maritime nation who possess deep national identity, strategic vision, and a sense of responsibility, thereby comprehensively enhancing the public's maritime literacy and serving the overall goal of building a maritime powerhouse.
